Lab-Grown Diamond Basics
The way forward. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. They’re chemically, physically and optically identical to earth-mined diamonds. Lab-grown diamonds are just as stunning and offer the same jaw-dropping fire, brilliance and scintillation as earth-mined diamonds with better purity. They’re conflict free being free of forced labour, opaque supply chains and doesn’t hurt our earth. Lastly, they are value for money offering incredible value (around 30-40% less than earth-mined diamonds) which means more shine for your spend.
The Anatomy Of Lab-Grown Diamond
The quality of a lab-grown diamond is graded according to the same four criteria as an earth-mined diamond. They are the 4Cs: Carat, Colour, Clarity and Cut. Our fifth C is Choice.
Colour
The presence of any tint in a diamond, graded on a scale from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow or brown). The less color a diamond has, the higher its value and rarity. We only deal in DEF.
Carat
The measure of the diamond’s weight, not size or quality, with one carat equivalent to 200 milligrams. Larger diamonds typically have a higher carat weight, but other factors also influence overall quality and pricing.
Cut
The precision and quality of a diamond’s facets and proportions, impacting its brilliance and sparkle. A well-cut diamond reflects light effectively, maximising its visual appeal, and is graded on a scale from Excellent to Poor.
Clarity
The presence of internal or external imperfections, known as inclusions and blemishes, respectively. Clarity is graded on a scale from Flawless to Included. Higher clarity grades indicate a more valuable and visually appealing diamond.
Choice
Lab grown diamonds are seven times less impactful to the environment than mined diamonds, use significantly less resources and emit a fraction of the air pollution.
